What Are Double Mutation Weekends?
Tips For Completing A Double-Mutated Daily Operation
Daily Ops Rewards
Double Mutation Weekends are one of the many regularly occurring events that players can take part in. When live, this event drastically increases the difficulty of Daily Operations. These missions can be tricky on a normal day, but the stakes are much higher during a Double Mutation Weekend.
However, with a team of decent players, it's not too difficult to complete a Daily Op in under 8 minutes during these special weekends. Despite being called Double Mutation Weekends, these events run from a Thursday to a Sunday, so there's plenty of time for players to dive in and play one or two when the event is live.

What Are Double Mutation Weekends?
By default, enemies have one random mutation that changes each day. However, on a Double Mutation Weekend, enemies will have two mutations. Depending on the combination, achieving the rank of Elder can be a difficult task. For example, if the enemies are aliens with cloaked and explosive mutations, then you can expect to struggle to complete the mission in under 8 minutes.
That said, there are some combinations that aren't that bad. However, they still aren't considered easy. But there's an upside; the rewards. Since they are Double Mutations, the rewards are also doubled. This is great for players looking to farm legendary items or search for a specific rare reward. Double mutation Weekends are also great for earning some extra XP. If you open up a couple of lunchboxes before starting one, you can get a lot of XP in just a few minutes.
Tips For Completing A Double-Mutated Daily Operation
While each day's mission will vary, there are some things that you should keep in mind to help complete the operation as fast as possible. Firstly, wait for a full team. It may take a couple of server hops, but during Double Mutation Weekends, having a full Daily Ops team gives you the best odds of earning the rank of Elder.
The second thing you can do is wait. Once you have a full team, load into the mission, but don't go in guns blazing. Instead, wait for your teammates to load in and give everyone the Vault Boy thumbs up before starting. This allows players to prepare themselves for the mission. Also, share a perk. It's always worth looking to see if your teammates are sharing any perks. Sharing perks is a great way of giving other players a little extra helping hand. This won't always work as some players have perk sharing turned off, and others may already have the perk you want to share in their loadout. However, it may still come in handy for some lower-level players who are still learning which perks are worth using.
Something else that's worth doing is reading the mutations before diving into the mission. Depending on what the mutations are, you may need to change your loadout or grab some different weapons from your Stash Box.
Daily Ops Rewards
As mentioned, you'll get double the amount of rewards when completing a Daily Operation during a Double Mutation Weekend. This means you'll get double the Caps, double the Scrip, and if you are lucky, some extra legendary weapons. You'll also receive one of the rare plan rewards. It's worth noting that the rare rewards aren't only available during Double Mutation Weekends. You'll get one on each day that you complete the mission in under 8 minutes. Some of the most sought-after plans are the Foundry Smelter and the Deep-Space Power Armor Paints.
