Other names for similar types of facilities include but are not limited to after hours walk-in clinics, minute clinics, quick care clinics, minor emergency centers, and minor care clinics.

A care need that isn't an emergency but requires prompt medical attention, usually within 24 to 48 hours. Examples include: Minor injuries and cuts. Sore throats and earaches. Frequent or severe coughs.
